Terms of service
OVERVIEW
Welcome to Dunes to Glaciers. The terms “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Dunes to Glaciers. We design, organize, and guide self off-road driving adventures and expedition travel experiences in remote regions, supported by expert leaders, recovery and safety measures, and dedicated communications. Our website and booking platform (the “Services”) are powered by Shopify.
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
SECTION 1 - ACCESS AND ACCOUNT
You must be the age of majority in your jurisdiction to book. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
SECTION 2 - OUR EXPEDITIONS
Expeditions are adventure travel experiences that may include self-driving off-road, camping, and travel in remote areas with limited or no mobile or internet coverage. Itineraries, routes, accommodations, vehicles, meal plans, and inclusions are described on each trip page and may vary by departure. Images and descriptions are illustrative only. We may limit or refuse participation to any person at our discretion for safety, operational, or eligibility reasons.
SECTION 3 - BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
Your booking is an offer to join an expedition. We may accept or decline at our discretion. A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm each seat. Balances are due by the deadline stated for the trip. Prices are listed in Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) unless noted. Bank fees, exchange differences, and transfer charges are your responsibility.
SECTION 4 - PRICING AND INCLUSIONS
What is included or excluded is specified on each trip page. Unless expressly stated, prices do not include international flights, visas, vaccinations, personal gear, personal insurance, optional activities, fines or traffic penalties, damages to vehicles or equipment due to misuse or negligence, or personal expenses. We may update prices, discounts, and promotions at any time prior to booking confirmation.
SECTION 5 - CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES, AND REFUNDS
Participant cancellations are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy. As a rule, our trips are pre-booked and non-refundable. Limited refunds or credits may apply only if we cancel or in force majeure as described in that policy.
We may update itineraries, dates, accommodations, vehicle categories, or routes due to safety, weather, border regulations, supplier issues, or other operational reasons. If we materially change or cancel, you may choose a refund of recoverable amounts or a future trip credit, as set out in the policy.
SECTION 6 - ELIGIBILITY, SKILLS, AND TRAINING
No prior off-road experience is required for most trips. Our expert team provides on-trip guidance and practical training, including self-recovery techniques. You must hold a valid driving license if you will operate a vehicle, comply with local laws, and follow all guide instructions. We reserve the right to reassess your participation on safety grounds if you do not follow instructions or pose risk to yourself, others, vehicles, or the expedition.
SECTION 7 - HEALTH, FITNESS, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Adventure travel involves inherent risks including rough terrain, off-road driving, wildlife, weather extremes, limited medical access, and remote evacuation challenges. By booking, you confirm you are fit to participate, have disclosed relevant medical conditions, and voluntarily assume these risks. You agree to comply with all safety briefings, convoy rules, speed limits, radio protocols, recovery procedures, and campsite and environmental guidelines.
SECTION 8 - INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
We do not provide travel insurance. You must hold appropriate personal travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and interruption, medical emergencies, evacuation, and off-road driving/adventure activities. Proof of insurance may be requested prior to departure.
SECTION 9 - VISAS, DOCUMENTS, AND COMPLIANCE
You are responsible for visas, passports with required validity, driving permits, and border or customs compliance. Failure to obtain required documents does not qualify for a refund.
SECTION 10 - VEHICLES, DRIVING, AND DAMAGE
Where vehicles are supplied by us, they include standard insurance per the trip description. You are responsible for fines and penalties incurred while you are in control of a vehicle. You agree to operate vehicles prudently and only as instructed. Damage resulting from reckless driving, intoxication, violation of instructions, or misuse may be chargeable to you to the extent not covered by insurance. Fuel is included only where explicitly stated on the trip page.
SECTION 11 - MEALS, WATER, AND ACCOMMODATION
Some departures include full meals and crewed kitchen service. Others require participants to cook as a group or individually. Specifics are stated for each trip. We accommodate reasonable dietary preferences when notified in advance but cannot guarantee allergen-free environments in remote locations.
SECTION 12 - COMMUNICATIONS AND CONNECTIVITY
Most expedition areas have limited or no mobile or internet service. Guides will advise before entering out-of-coverage zones. For emergencies we carry satellite communication equipment and safety protocols suitable for the route and conditions.
SECTION 13 - CONDUCT AND REMOVAL FROM TRIP
We expect respectful behavior toward local communities, the environment, our crew, and fellow participants. Harassment, intoxicated driving, illegal substances, refusal to follow safety instructions, or behavior that endangers the group may result in your removal from the expedition without refund.
SECTION 14 - MEDIA CONSENT
You may be photographed or filmed during the expedition. By joining, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use such imagery for documentation and marketing, unless you opt out in writing before departure. You remain responsible for obtaining permission before commercially using images that identify other participants or local communities.
