We create premium self off-road expeditions designed for 4x4 enthusiasts who want to experience nature in its purest form. Each journey is a carefully scouted route through deserts, mountains, forests, rivers, and glaciers. Our adventures combine wild camping and unique local stays, guided by an expert team with full safety, recovery, and satellite communication support.
How do I book an expedition?
You can book directly through our website. Choose your preferred expedition, fill out the short registration form, and our team will contact you to confirm your spot. Once confirmed, you'll receive a detailed trip briefing and preparation checklist. If you need help selecting the right expedition, we're happy to guide you personally.
What's included in the expedition fee?
All our expeditions are fully supported experiences. Your participation fee includes guided self off-road driving, recovery and safety support, camping equipment, rooftop tents or boutique guesthouse stays (depending on the route), most meals, all logistics, and local permits. Flights and personal expenses are not included. Each trip page provides a detailed list of inclusions.
Do I need to own a 4x4 vehicle?
Some expeditions are bring-your-own-car journeys, while others, such as the Empty Quarter Expedition, include fully equipped off-road vehicles. Each trip page clearly specifies what's provided. If you're bringing your own car, our team will help ensure it's properly equipped and prepared for the terrain.
Do I need off-road driving experience?
No previous experience is required. Our guides will train you on the basics of off-road driving, recovery, and self-navigation during the expedition. Every participant will gain real experience behind the wheel under the guidance of professionals.
Who leads the expeditions?
All expeditions are led by our expert Dunes to Glaciers team, trained in off-road navigation, recovery, first aid, and wilderness safety. We maintain strict communication protocols using satellite systems to ensure safety even in remote areas.
Can I bring my children or family?
For safety reasons, our expeditions are recommended for adults only. The terrain, driving conditions, and remote camping setup are designed for adventurous travelers.
What is the food like during the expedition?
Meals are a big part of the adventure. Some expeditions include a chef who prepares meals at camp, while others involve participants cooking together using our provided kitchen setup. Each trip description clearly states the meal format.
Is fuel included?
Yes, for expeditions where vehicles are provided by Dunes to Glaciers, fuel and full insurance are included in the cost. For bring-your-own-vehicle trips, participants are responsible for their own fuel.
Will I have mobile or internet network during the expedition?
Most of our adventures take place in remote areas with limited or no mobile coverage. Each itinerary specifies where the signal fades, and the expedition leader will notify you before entering an offline zone. For emergencies, our team always carries satellite communication equipment for voice and data contact.
What should I pack?
Before each trip, you'll receive a detailed packing list suited to the season and region. In general, bring layered clothing, durable footwear, sun protection, and basic personal items. All group and recovery gear is supplied by Dunes to Glaciers.
What is your cancellation policy?
Every expedition is custom-planned and pre-booked with local partners, so cancellations are limited. Refunds are not guaranteed once your booking is confirmed. Can I join solo?
Absolutely. Many participants travel solo and join our small convoys of 6 to 8 vehicles. These journeys naturally create a strong bond between travelers, often turning fellow participants into lifelong friends.
Do you organize private or corporate expeditions?
Yes. We craft tailor-made expeditions for private groups, families, and corporate teams. Whether you want a brand activation or an exclusive wilderness journey, our team will design a personalized route and setup.
